2016 Chablis Grand Cru


There are only seven Grand Cru vineyards in Chablis, yet they produce some of the best value fine wines in the world and are perfect with our seafood, especially our native oysters.

Forming a crescent above the River Serein, the chardonnay vines enjoy perfect exposure to the sun south and south west. The soil, Kimmeridgian clay, is the same as for the Village wines, but the drainage is impeccable and the clay is peppered with “Exogyra Virgula”, a small extinct oyster. Amazing complexity and length is in the glass- this Grand Cru is fantastic now, but has the structure to age for years.
