Driver
We are looking for a Driver to join our team at the Fishery in East Mersea.
The ideal candidate will possess a driving licence, have a smart appearance and polite manner as you will be meeting our customers. Experience driving long wheel based vans would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Loading the van and assisting with packing if required
- Driving locally in Essex and Suffolk and occasionally to Heathrow.
Skills
- Numerate, everything is counted and weighed, attention to detail is key.
- Teamwork, we are a small company and as such, everybody works together, helping each other to get the job done.
- Fit and strong, there is heavy lifting and manual handling involved in this role, you must be able to lift heavy weights safely and carefully.
Working at the Fishery isn't for everybody, we are a working oyster farm with lobsters and oysters kept in water in tanks so the environment can be cold and wet in winter months. For the right person, the Fishery is a great place to work, every day is different and being right on the river in East Mersea, it's a really special place to work.
Job Type: Part-time, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
Hours: 10am to about 5pm, need to be flexible as it depends on number and location of deliveries.
Pay: From £12.00 per hour

Fishery Assistant
We are looking for a Fishery Assistant to join our team at the Fishery in East Mersea.
The ideal candidate will possess good attention to detail, be physically fit and happy to handle live shellfish, but most of all needs to be adaptable as every day is different at the Fishery and you will be required to work across the full range of seafood we produce.
Responsibilities
- Packing a variety of seafood - oysters, live lobsters, fresh and frozen shellfish.
- Driving - occasionally delivering our seafood to local restaurants.
- Preparing lobsters to order, dressing lobsters and preparing lobster meat.
