The mussels have been blanched to open the shell so the top half can be discarded leaving you with the plump mussel meat with its own serving dish! These sustainably grown New Zealand mussels make the perfect canape or starter, top them with a cheesy, bacon breadcrumb or a creamy garlic sauce and place under the grill for a mussel gratin. If you are serving them in the shell as a canape, just make sure the mussel is free from the shell before adding the topping, your guest will thank you.
In the warmer months, instead of grilling the mussels pop them on the BBQ instead.
