The sardines are sustainably caught along the Cornish shore and bought at Newlyn fish auction by the Hevva! team.

Once back at the the Hevva! farm in Bude, the sardines are dry-cured in salt and brown sugar to preserve the delicate texture and intensify the flavour. They are then cooked and preserved simply in rapeseed oil to give you deliciously rich, oily and slightly sweet Cornish sardines.

Ideal on served on a thick slice of toast with a green salad and pickles. These tins of sardines are a great cupboard staple, providing you with a quick and easy meal thats packed full of goodness.

Sardines (70%) (fish), rapeseed oil (27%), curing salt (salt, E250), brown sugar, smoked paprika, black pepper

Produced in a kitchen which also handles NUTS, SESAME, DAIRY, FISH and MUSTARD.

Hevva!

Cornish for "Here they are!" was the cry raised by local fishermen stationed at lookouts along the Cornish coast, when a shoal of pilchards swam into view. This was the signal for people in the town to man the boats and head out to sea.
